Cross Country: Miller Edition

As you may know, I recently decided to do running-related sports, like Track. But today: Cross Country started.

So did football and soccer, but that's beside the point.

When Mom and I arrived at Miller Jr. High, there were at least 65 people standing outside of the gym doors, which made me think about just how big the team would be. When Coach Harless called for football, about 35% of the people left and followed him to the field. But then it happened: Coach Gucci (No, that's not her real name.) called for soccer. Approximately--i ain't no math wiz'rd--61% percent of the remaining people left, leaving five aspiring athletes left. Me included, of course.

Just as practice began, the final three members came. Then our coach Mr. Dove led us the the grass and, yuh know...stretched and stuff. Then we ran. A lot. Well, some people would laugh and call us sissies, but after a mile and a half in the semi-groomed terrain of behind the track fence and around the school, i was ready to drink up all of the Chehalis River. Granted it'd been purified and flavored with lemon.

Needless to say, I'm ready to go back tomorrow. And the day after that. And that. And that...

Life's A Beach

Ah, Washington. The freezing grayish/blue water. The warm, rocky sand. The pieces of driftwood strewn about. The ease of driving from point A to point B. The fact that all this is a mere 25 minutes away.

Today, my best friend Morgan and I traveled to Westport to visit the lovely beaches of western Washington. I must say, jumping over waves, skipping sand dollars in the still, warm pools of water, and racing through the sand is fun all of the time. And while I love building sand mounds and sipping flat Dr. Pepper, there's always a downside.

It has to end.

Eh.

That's all I can say about this summer (so far). Eh. Granted I've had a fun camping trip, I've been to the beach, but...eh. It's like a broken record: wake up, eat, play computer, assorted chores, more computer, more food, sleep. I NEED A DE-STATUS QUO-IFICATION!

And I think I've found it.

I may or may not be in love with Harry Potter. YES I've only read the first three books and saw the first three movies, but that;s not stopping me. Once I find the fourth book, that's all I'll be talking about.

On a different note, I MUST apologize for the lack of posts. There;s just no excuse. I'll try to post more often :)
